How do i turn off the display, but keep music on?

So I'm using my tv as the monitor, hooked up via HDMI and I want to keep streaming my music, but I want the display to turn off. I can't for the life of me figure this out. When the screen turns off, so does the sound bar.

are you using the speakers from your tv? if so when you turn your tv off your also turning of the speakers.

This was nearly a ago so I assume you have fixed this now but as long as you are using HDMI switching your monitor off will turn off the sound, if you are able to plug the sound bar directly into your PC using a jack you will be able to use it whilst your monitor is off. This is because HDMI manages audio as well, only when you turn your monitor off the signal to your speakers gets severed.

wont work without separate/independent speakers plugged into sound jack on back of computer
