how do i use my ssd just for my os and main programs

hi guys I am wondering how do I use my ssd for my os and main programs only( which will be my c / local drive) and run and play my games from my E/drive which is a 2 t/b 7200 separate hard drive ???

Ok first install the Windows to the SSD (MAKE SURE THE HDD IS NOT PLUGGED IN DURING THE INSTALL)

After you have windows 7 installed, shut the computer down and plug the HDD back into the mobo. Then boot and go to disk management. Click on the unpartitioned e drive or free space on the drive if you already partitioned it. This website should help with that.

Create a games file on your E: drive

When installing a game it will ask you where to store the game files. Instead of clicking next click browse.
Find and select the games folder on the E drive. The game will then install there.

Then you can run it from the E drive whenever you want (or a desktop shortcut)


This method will also work for other programs as well. Just make a different file for whatever program on the E drive.
