How do I use the Pwm hub

I have a Phanteks Ethoo pro case and a Asus h170 pro mobo. Question is that on the back of the case there is a 'Pwm hub' which apparently all the fans connect to. There is a wire that comes out from the case called CPU fan. People say that the wire is supposed to connect to my mobo but if that connects to my mobo then where would my actually CPU heat sink wire connect to? Also the case comes with a Sata wire which is the power connector for the Pwm hub but on the manual it says that if I connect the 4pin then I don't connect the Sata. This is all really confusing. Please help!!!

for your first question, the cpu fan can connect to another fan header on the motherboard. there's 2.
for the second question, without overly complicating things, plug in the 4-pin header onto the motherboard as well as connect the hub using sata

So I should connect the CPU fan connector to the chassis fan socket on the motherboard?
