How do I verify memory timings

Hi I put together my system last night. It's an Asus P5B-Deluxe using 2 x 1 GB Crucial Ballistix PC2 6400 memory.

The memory has 4-4-4-12 timings but I can't figure out where to verify if it's actually running at that speed. I think I have read that memory will just set itself to cas 5 by default, even if it can do better.

So how do I verify my memory timings (and if they are not set right how do I change them so I can take advantage of the memory I bought). Thanks.

in windows you can run cpu-z http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php
but go into bios and disable spd detection, then manually enter timings and voltage from your ram's spec sheet
