How do install another operating system on my laptop

Hello,
I'd like to install the Linux operating system alongside the current 1 which is Windows Vista. Laptop has 2 hard drives but would I still need to partition 1 of them and how much space would I need for Linux? Thanks in advance!

Depending on the version, 10 gig should be enough for a basic setup, with some applications but you probably want 20-30 gig for future use.

just run one on each drive....then pick whatever os you want when it boots!
