In xp you used to be able to just save a file as a different type depending on the extension you choosed. I have a PDF picture, how can I save it as a .jpeg or something like that. The option doesn't pop up in the save as type drop down box.

Solution

Adobe Reader will absolutely print the pdf, and only the pdf.
Or save. Either one.

Win 7 (or XP) does not do this. You need an application of some sort that can read pdf and jpg.

as said cant save pdf as jpeg

in 7 you can still save files with a different extension as long as its supported

ie you could save a text file as text, bat etc

either get a convertor or use windows snipping tool to capture an image of your document then save it as jpeg

I see. We'll the situation for example is there is a rebate im going to put through and wanted a copy of the image. It can be found here. I know with XP i have just right clicked > save as and put .jpeg and it would save as an image. Is there no way to just save the document as an image?

and mcnumpty yeah thats what I was talking about but when ive tried to do it it would just change the file name and be like document.bat.text

I didn't do this with a .bat file but im using that for an example.

When you open that pdf, it should give you the option to save (as pdf) to your local drive.

When you get the image in your browser, hold down the ALT key and press the PrtScr button. Then open up some word processor like maybe Wordpad, put the cursor in it, then right-click and click Paste. That copies the image into the clipboard, then pastes it into the word processor where you can save or print in any way the word processor supports.

Good luck.
