i know this is kind of a weird out of the blue question but ive heard that the way ur supposed to hold a mouse is having ur wrist in the air, i feel more comfortable with my wrist sitting on the mousepad but after short periods of time itll start to hurt. i wanna be like others !!! 🙁((((((

Still using the intellimouse optical, 14-15 years since i got my first one. This the 3rd one. Just normal style, the good thing about it is that back/forward buttons on either side require no thumb & finger contortion. you just depress a few mm thats it.

Give Mionix Naos a go, a lot of people like that mouse for comfort. Best current on paper specs. Good build quality

Sound like youd love the logitech deadelus. Small light and perfect for claw

idek what method i use. every finger including thumb sits on the mouse except the pinky. itll usually just glide as i move the mouse haha. most annoying part is is when i for example look to the right or left(in a game) and then go back to middle i have to pick up the mouse and move it

For FPS game play, make sure you use quality surface / mouse pad, definitely not cloth based. Also mouse sensitivity does not need to be crazy high, I keep my around 1400 dpi and high pooling. Next make sure you turn off mouse setting in control panel enhance mouse precision. I also like laser mouse over optical.

Ok so the most important thing when gaming is that you need to be comfortable, especially if you play for long hours. First thing to do is get a comfortable chair, that is the right height. Ideally at thin desktop is best, so when you relax your arms, they comfortably rest on the desk surface, so as not to strain the muscles in your arms, shoulders, or hands. If the desk surface is too high or too low, it can lead to muscle or ligament strain or damage.

I would say the same thing for a mouse. For me, I use a palm grip. I have very large hands so I had to find a large mouse. Logitech makes excellent products, but I am not using a SteelSeries Rival, because the new "proteus core" mouse trigger button is too thin for my large hands. I recommend a Logitech 500 series or a newer one if they fit your hand OK. Anyway back to the grip etc. I use a palm grip and have done so for a good 15+ years of PC gaming. I'm currently a DMG rank in CS:GO. Another big part of the puzzle if you play games like CS, is finding the right mouse sensitivity. You want a lower DPI setting for accuracy, and a big mouse pad surface so you can swing around in a hurry if need be.

I think you can learn to be good with any mouse grip with practice, but the most important thing for long term is comfort. You don't want to develop carpal tunnel or hurt your wrists/hands/arms... It's not worth it.

Not sure what youre using but if its a mouse with dodgy acceleration or youve changed the windows mouse speed setting this can have disastrous effects.

For FPS the top gamers use low 400dpi setting. The intellimouse is still revered. They dont make em any more though. Ive researched and wasted a lot of time trying to find a replacement, and i cant. $ no object. (unfortunately i dont want to waste a fortune trying them all out) Ive spent so long with it that everything else is hard to handle.

i thought all mouse pads were cloth based. guess im wrong. ive actually been using a book for a long time. should be getting a mouse pad this weekend. i already have one but its not big enough thats why i use the book

guys whats the intellimouse?? im using the mouse that was in the logitech mk120 combo. i actually have this other gaming mouse i bought but its uncomfortable because there is a little grip on the right side and i dont need it for my pinky so i dont use it

I'm with this. My chair arm is level with my desk's top and my arm is laid flat from elbow to hand, mouse held in palm with index finger on left button and middle finger on right. Most important for this is to have a good mousing surface that is very thin, so that it doesn't dig into your arm and doesn't slow your arm movements (I like Roccat's products for this).

u guys actually law ur whole arm on the desk? mines not big enough for that haha

No, most of my forearm is on my chair arm, only my hand, wrist, and maybe 2 inches of my forearm are on the desk top, and all actually on the mousing surface which is lined up with the edge of my desk. Again, I adjust my chair so that the top of the arm is level with the top of the desk.

oh ok. dammit my chair doesnt have an arm haha

Ipersonally have a Logitech G502 running on a Razer Sphex mouse pad. I sit on a Maxonimic seat and sag my wrist off the end of the desk, kinda letting gravity make me comfy lol.

As per grip I use a hybrid grip between all 3 general grips. Fingertips in the middle of the mouse buttons with the fingers up quite high. Then I hold the thumb grip with as much contact on my thumb as possible. My palm then holds the back of the mouse, from the finger connections. I then let my arm sag off the desk onto my chair which has highly adjustable arms. Without chair arms I let them sag a little bit but I prefer support under my arm.

The Corsair Sabre and Logitech G502 are 2 good mice. I'd check the RAT mice if you want an adjustable mouse though.
