how do you mount the i7 stock intel cpu fan?

There are four brackets on your motherboard (they form a square around the cpu). Match those up with the pins on the cpu cooler and rest it lightly so each pin on the cooler is sitting on its respective bracket on the motherboard. Then its just a case of pressing them in, one at a time. Recommended order of seating (pressing them into the mobo) each pin in, is diagonals - so top left, bottom right and then top right, bottom left.

Just make sure you support the mobo because installing it takes a good amount of force and the board can flex if not supported properly.

Turn off and unplug the system unit.
Disconnect any components that may be in the way of removing the system unit's cover.
Remove the screws from the rear of the case and slide the cover away from the system unit case.
Remove any and all electrical static charge from your clothes and body by touching a doorknob or any other grounded object.
Locate the CPU Chip. The chip will be mounted onto the motherboard in a socket and depending on the type of computer you have, the socket may be shaped in various forms.
nce the CPU is in plain view, grasp the lever on the Zero Insertion Force sockets and carefully but firmly pull the lever straight up. This lever is normally located on the side of the chip.
Place the beveled end of the chip to match the beveled end of the socket when inserting the new chip.(look for yellow corner and match with motherbaord cpu socket yellow corner)
