How do you prioritize GPU over Integrated Graphics for VR?

So I got a gaming laptop a month ago, "Omen" by HP
The specs are:
i7 7700HQ
GTX 1050Ti
12GB of ram

Today I ran the Steam VR Performance Test just to see if it could support VR play.

At the end of the test it concluded that my CPU was good enough but it was using my integrated graphics for the GPU part of the test and obviously it said it wasn't good enough.

In NVIDIA Control Panel, I have the Power management mode set to prefer maximum performance. I checked the Bios and couldn't find anything about disabling the integrated graphics. I tried disabling the integrated graphics in the Device Manager but that changed my screen resolution.

I don't know what else to check to prioritize my GPU over my integrated graphics.

Thanks for your help.

It sounds like a typical laptop compromise. Everyone who uses this laptop will want the integrated graphics HDMI output, for use if you need to drive another monitor but want to conserve battery power. This means they'd need to design the laptop to have a second HDMI output, for people who'd want to drive an external device with the GPU. Since that's not really a feature that would sell more laptops, but it will increase cost, they probably said "Forget it, integrated HDMI is enough".

Yes it does. I posted this question to Reddit also. From the responses, apparently if the HDMI port on a laptop is connected to your integrated graphics instead of the GPU, it won't use your GPU for VR, it'll use the integrated graphics. Upsetting, but oh well
