How do you remove the screws off a backplate?

I have been trying to remove a backplate from my Inspiron. It doesn't seem to be glued on but the screw is one I have never seen before. Here is a picture. Although it isn't my exact backplate, it's screw type seems to be the same.

Those are brass inserts. They are molded into the bracket and not meant to be removed. You thread a screw into them.

How am I going to get the backplate off, then?

There should be screws to remove on the other side where the heat sink and fan are mounted. They might be integrated with the heat sink. Can you take pictures and post them?

I managed to take a knife (perhaps not the best idea) and pop the brass inserts off the motherboard. Thanks for the help!
