How do you set up HTC Andriod mobile phone for bigpond email?

My dad has left it in my capable hands for me to set up his bigpond email for his Optus mobile phone.

So does anyone have to ingoing and outgoing settings for bigpond email that will work?

The mobile phone is a HTC Incredible S S710e

It is on the Optus 3G network with andrid version 2.3.3

I have tried downloading the hotmail app installed it successfully but it didn't work, i still have the problem!!
