How do you show hidden folders in the recycle bin

My recycle bin appears empty, yet it says there are 3 files that are still there, how do i get them to show?

Open Windows Explorer,
Click "Tools" at top of frame.
Select "Folder Options"
Click the "View" tab.
Go down the the place that shows "Show Hidden files and folders" and click there.
Go down more to the place that shows "Hide Protected Operating System files" and uncheck it, click Ok to un-hide these type files.
Click "Apply"
Click the button just below the tabs that says "Apply to All Folders"
Click Ok to acknowledge.
Go back to recycle bin and look.
