I see different answers to this question everywhere I look and I'm just asking around before I order a pair for testing.

The headphones in question I'm interested in is the Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro that runs on 250 ohms. I used to have a pair of high-end headphones that my motherboard handled high impedance really good, but 250 ohms is the highest I've gone for so far.

My motherboard is an ASUS PRIME Z390 that use S1220A Crystal Sound 3 with an integrated amplifier and impedance-sensor that in quote "is capable of driving high-impedance headphones, without rolling-off high or low frequencies." It also uses 120dB signal-to-noise ratio for the stereo line-out and a 113dB SNR for the line-in, which is the same my Creative Sound Blaster amplifier got I use for another machine with an older motherboard, (if that makes any difference).

Thoughts?

Yes.
I can’t wrap my head around what you are asking. A very professional set of headphones (love the Beyer) but what are you trying to accomplish?

I have a small recording studio, bought an external USB audio board. It is that important to me so I need a dedicated audio unit.
The question is what do you need? The headphones will power up alright but that kind of headphones you would need for studio and/or audio in movies or this kind of thing, so not sure that powering up is enough for you.

I've got the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 250ohm and they work just fine with my on-board motherboard audio. I've got an older Gigabyte UD-5 mobo. Just gotta crank it up slightly more

For one I'm fed up with all of the expensive technologies gaming headphones market these days. Literally every headphone I have gone through with the word gaming in the title have been disappointment after disappointment. I put emphasis on sound quality and comfort over all other fancy features these gaming headphones try to offer. Recent headphone I used I ordered straight from Koss, which like the Beyer had outstanding sound and fit on the head. Unfortunately that one snapped in half the other day because of cheap plastic. I'm just looking for a high-end headphone that deliver good and accurate audio, fits comfortably on my head, and don't break after six months of usage. What I want to do with them is of course gaming, movies, and music, but also to run my YouTube channel where I spend alot of time in various sound editors. Nothing fancy though that require a studio with all of the technology that comes with it. So far I've only heard good things about the DT990, and I got a good offer on them right now at my local tech store. But well it looks like my motherboard should be able to handle them, I'm just reassuring myself.
