Question how do you use this SD card reader

im somewhat intelligent but i cannot figure out how to get my moto e4 to read this device. when i put it in the phone it does not show the 32 gig card under storage. also it doesnt show it under my pic program (i use quick pic).

i went under the file manager on my phone and if i fool around i can see the card thru there but no clue how to move pics from phone to the SD card in the reader.

i turned off my no root firewall so thats not the issue.

device works fine plugged into laptop. theres no website for the device so no help there. and no one on amazon answered my question. i cannot say it doesnt work but more that i obviously dont know how to use it lol. i just wanna move pics from phone to the device. nothing crazy

OTG itself is easy to use, u just connect any OTG device and some popup will show up so u can see you files

btw Moto E does not support OTG

usb otg checker said. andriod compatible with green checkmark. and say usb manager host device list has green checks

what is your android version?
Android 6.x had issues with apps in OTG

You need a file manager application, plenty of them on the Play Store.

just picked asus file manager since it was near the top of the listings. however i still have issues. on the file manager main page i see internal storage, microSD and USB drive which of course is my 32 gig usb stick with the sd card

however when i hit the menu it shows internal storaage and micro SD only...then network storage which would be my NAS.

also when im on a pic and i hit MOVE TO it only lists the current folder. the internal storage and the micro SD, not the USB. this is the issue i keep having.

im convinced has somethign to do with permissions but in the app settings the storage is selected on. there's a 3 swipe tutorial to give the SD card permissions but when i try to do what it says it says i must perform certain steps to grant permissions it just doesnt work and i cannot figure it out. it says on menu hit show SD card but the menu button doenst have that.
