Hi!

My elder eight year PC is still working but it's time to play the current new games so i am building a new pc and I would appreciate your comments or suggestions about it.

The components i have in mind are:

CPU: Intel i7 4770k
CPU cooler: Intel default.
Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Hero
Memory: 2x8GB Kingston Hyperx beast DDR3 2400MHz PC3-19200 CL-11
SSD: Samsung 840 Evo SSD Series 120GB SATA3
HD: WD Caviar Black 2TB SATA3 64MB
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 770 DirectCU II OC 2GB GDDR5
Case: Lian Li PC-6070
Power Supply: Corsair GS800 V2 800W Gaming Series
Optical Drive: LG GH24NSB0
Monitor: Asus PA248Q 1920 x 1200
Operating System: Windows 8.1

About this components i have some doubts and i'm sure you could help me:

CPU Cooler: At the moment i won't overclock the cpu so I think with the intel default cpu cooler will be fine. What do you think?

Case: I have and old Lian Li PC-6070 case and it still looks good so i wanna keep it. It's an ATX standard case from 2005. Could be any problem in terms of cooling or space that the actual components can cause?

Monitor: I choose the Asus PA248Q monitor but I would like to know if someone has and alternative similar in cost (300$ aprox).

Thank you very much for your impressions about this configuration!

Well first off drop the i7, no difference in gaming but get it if you want files to extract or videos to render 5-10 seconds faster.

Get 3570k instead, then you can decide on a water cooler. You don't need 16GB ram at all, 8 is enough. GPU I'd get 7950, those are going good price right now.

I agree with aj2013. Although im more partial to CM cases and nvidia graphics cards i think aj2013 is on to something there. Im rolling a i5-2500k and 8gb of g-skill and i love the combo. Dont over spend in areas it isnt going to make a difference.
