What is wrong with the MSI K8N Neo 2 platinum? Anand got a 3000+ up to 2.6Ghz on that mobo. (290x9), a 45% increase is a killer A64 OC no? FX55 speeds with a sub $200 cpu. I'm actually considering buying one of those very soon now that the S393 3000+ is so easy to find. Please advise as I am no expert on A64's by any means.

The gigabyte board is expensive, and the tests I have seen it doesn't perform as well. Where do you see this GB overclock scott?

AMD 64 3400+
MSI K8N Neo Platinum
1 GB Kingston HyperX PC3200
6800 GT
WD Raptor 74GB

That wasn't even mine, but it did 260x8 no problem, well no surprise there. The bios goes up to 400mhz so with 3x HT, using 8xmultiplier with 300HT, computer booted, i did all this before installing windows on the customer's computer, so i wouldn't know if it's windows stable. i've got to 320HT and can't get any higher, no matter how much voltage i feed it.

So the Gigabyte is worth the money then? What heatsync/fan do you recommend for it? I want to stay away from watercooling because I don't like the idea of having running water in my computer :\

I have my heart set on the Thermalright XP-90, 92mm vantec tornado, and a Vantec fan control unit. From what I hear, that's second only to the 120MM version, but fits more motherboards.

Only $64.99 apeice after rebate and instant off.

Aww, I just noticed a limit 1 on the rebate. I guess it wouldn't be a good idea to just get one? And wait for later to get more? They wouldnt' match then. And its not that much cheaper than the cheapest newegg, although prob higher quality.
