How does this monitor utilize FreeSync?

I am looking for a new monitor and I came across this one. It claims to have AMD's FreeSync but does not have a DVI or a Displayport port. I didn't think you could utilize FreeSync with HDMI but I could be wrong, thus the reason for this thread. Thanks in advance!

Not sure how it works, but the "VG245HE" is listed on AMD's list of FreeSync monitors using HDMI. Asus only lists a VG245H, so I would guess that's the one.

That's why I was confused but would it work over hdmi I thought that wasn't a thing?
