How Does this Powerline Ethernet Adapter Work

The powerline ethernet adapter I am talking about is this one

https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Powerline-ethernet-Adapter-TL-PA4010KIT/dp/B00AWRUICG/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1530739096&sr=1-3&keywords=powerline%2Bethernet%2Badapter&th=1

What I don't understand is how this adapter connects to my PC. I understand that one adapter connects to my router via ethernet cable, but how does the other adapter connect to my PC? Via USB or something else? I already have a NetGear wifi connector thing that I use to connect to my router via WiFi, would I use that to connect to the adapter or something else?

Also, what is the difference between the 1-port and 2-port versions that I am shown on the site? I was told by someone that the 2-port version is for 2 ethernet ports, but what does that mean exactly?

Thanks, I appreciate any help given.

Solution
Your PC should have an Ethernet jack along with all the other ports. You just connect it through that. 2-Port versions just allow you to connect multiple computers.
