How does Toms hardware calculate average FPS?

Anyone know how Toms Hardware calculates the graphic cards Average fps? Is it the most common fps rate, or is it the middle fps between the top fps and lowest fps?

I believe our benchmarking process uses the common average - but I'll check with the editorial feature guys to make sure.
