How durable is flash memory

Hi i am thinking of buying 128GB flash drive or memory card because i want it to be light and portable to store information.I have important information and i going to store it there and i wont write and rewrite im just gonna use it to access information when i need it.I've been using memory card for photography and its used constantly everyday for 5 years and its still working with no problem.Which is most durable flash drive or memory card?

Flash memory is okay to use as long as the data is backed up to some other media.

Don't ever store data on a single drive of any type without a backup, no matter how reliable you may think (or you've been told) it is.
