I need to get a new external SSD...are these articles a good example to follow when I move my Steam folder to the new drive?

Any additional advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

As for non-steam games, it's a little more complicated. Your programs are tied to your registry (amongst other things) just moving them doesn't often end up with success. Cloning them won't help your current OS either, as your current OS will not necessarily associate to the new location.

It's often best practice to reinstall applications (outside of steam). But it depends on the application.
