Just like the title says, buying it for my nephew. How good is it in today's games?

Will you be using a gpu with it? Depending on the gpu it would likely be able to do max settings 1080p 60fps in pretty much any game.

Yes I got him a Power color r9 380. It was on sale so I got it while I could.

Yeah its plenty for 1080p 60fps in any game I can think of, it wont do max settings in every game, some demanding games may require you to drop the settings down a bit to stay at 60fps,
