How good is the Sky router?

Thinking of upgrading my router to get the most out of my broadband speed which can be average at the best of times. I have the standard Sky hub atm and it sems to struggle when I game on PS3 and someone decides to use youtube or just the internet in general.

Is it worth upgrading and if so what to? Hearing alot about this new 802.11ac tech (not entirely sure what it means) and other technological advances. If money isn't an object, what should I look into?

Changing to a more capable router will improve your internal communications, but not necessarily your connection to the Internet. That is still an issue of the quality of service provided by Sky (and the level of service you pay for).

POS for anything but general home usage, multiple users, bad idea.

Stick it in modem or bridge mode and hang a Asus RT-N66U / RT-AC66U / AC68U if you want the best 2.4GHz or 5ghz range and performance, in order of preference and price.
