How good or bad a Delta electronics PSU is?

Hey everyone!

I've been using a Delta electronics PSU for about a year or so by now.

Model is DPS-700MB A REV 00F

My question is, how reliable this PSU could be? I'm intending to put a 7970 or 660Ti with this PSU, or should I look somewhere else?

Some randon seller in MercadoLibre (Mexico's eBay or ubid) with a good reputation, is offering me a combo deal, Asus 7970 and a Silent Pro 850W.

He says the 7970 requieres at least 650 watt 42A, mine says up to 50A total combined output...

Any help will be appreciated

I would go with the deal. What he says is true about the 7970 but the 42A it needs is from the 12V rail, not the combined amperage on the PSU. And Cooler Master has some good PSU's out there and the Silent Pro is a good one. Go with it.

Hi - upgrade if you wish, but it isn't necessary. A sys with a 7970 will run
fine on a quality 550w(min 30a on the +12v) unit per realhardtech, their expertise.
You have more power than you need.

Take the deal if you wish, but you have way more power now than you need for a 7970 sys.

There´s a couple of things which will make me decide to take the deal or not.

As I pointed out before, the total power for my PSU is 50A, but I don't think the PCIE dedicated molex or connector could possibly have low amperage, so that's a big doubt for me.

My PSU has 6+2 Pin and a 6 pin connector for the 7970, but it requires dual 8 pin, so if I take that power from the power adapters that came with the video card, it could possibly last for a couple of months till I get my hands in a Corsair AX860i, or should I take the silent pro and settle with that for now.

The adapters that come with the video card are fine, that's what they're for.
Plz be aware that 50a on the +12v is a lot, you need only 30-31a for the
whole system on the +12v. You have a lot of headroom.

Get a new PSU when you want, but you don't need to do it because you
are lacking sufficient power. Your Delta has more power than you need.

Delta is a decent psu manufacturer. They build psu for Antec.

I'm so sorry to revive this thread, still have a question about this PSU, as it seems reliable.

This PSU happens to only have 4 pin CPU power (which I enlarged with an adapter from Silverstone, ATX and CPU power cables are so short), so my question is, could this PSU handle some OC? do I need another PSU with 4+4 CPU power pins?

Should mention about my specs as they have changed since I asked about this PSU some time ago.
