how google drive provides such fast download

my internet plan is 2mbps , with lan of 100mbps network.....

when i download from google drive and some other site's i get exact 4mbps download speed and upload speed as normal , seem's like speed is provided my google server's ......same thing's happens with my friends

what kind of web hosting provides such speed for visitors ?

I would be extremely surprised if you could really get more download speed than you pay for. Even if google transfers data fast your ISP will still limit you to the plan you pay for. Some times it is a technical limit and other it is purely a artificial limit they impose based on how much money you pay them.

Maybe google is doing something silly like compressing the files and then pretending that is part of the data transfer rate.

It can not be googles servers that magically increase speed. You can easily get a couple hundred mbits/sec on a fast internet connection. If they could somehow exceed your ISP bandwidth why would they only send you the relatively tiny 4mbps the should send at the full server speed

by saying this all you are proving me wrong , seem's you've ever been to play store before , everyone love's and admire playstore because of it's download speed , and you are saying such big company in world would do silly mistake's and pretending ' oohh god , how can you say they are pretending .......i am a software developer , none of the thing's would go differently in application's and all are expected.......and it's not just about google i do get speed more that 3 mbps on couple of site's ........ <tinyurl link REDACTED by Moderator>check this link ....you'll start thinking how should'nt your isp cap this out all you are saying sound's like miracle ....

So I go to the store and buy a 10lb bag of flour. Google can magically make that 20lbs even though I only paid for 10.

How can google force your ISP to give you more bandwidth than you are paying for. That is the real question.
