How hot should my CPU be running??

Im new to this computer stuff and i think that im going over my head with this computer.
Im scared that my cpu will either Melt or get so hot it crashes my computer. Please help.

Specs:
CPU: I7-7700k Kaby Lake Quad Core
GPU:ASUS GeForce® GTX 1080 8GB
TURBO
RAM:Crucial Ballistix Sport 2x16GB 2400 Mhz
MOBO: ASUS Maximus IX Hero
PSU:Corsair RM1000i Gold cert
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD
Case NZXT S340 - Razer Edition
OS: windows 10.

how high is your temperature?
you can check this by running prime95 version 26.6 (not the more updated versions, because these will lead to higher temps) with the option smallfft.
While running have a look at your temperatures with coretemp. After 10minutes the temps should be stable.
1st of all, your CPU won´t melt, it would just throttle (decreae the core frequency) or shutdown your PC.

Which CPU cooler did you get for it?

A normal temperature on desktop would be like 30°C to 40°C. Less is always better but is depending on case airflow and the chosen cpu cooler.

Under load (games) it should not reach more than 80°C, better not more than 70°C.

It will shutdown or throttle if it reaches like 100°C.
