This is my first time building a computer and while I've learned a LOT so far, I want to get some second opinions from people who aren't my boyfriend.

This is my current build. This is MOSTLY my boyfriends build, but I've changed a few things. Is everything compatible? What would you change about it? Is there anything that sends a red flag to you? Any opinions on parts that I've chosen?

Trying to keep it budget friendly. Only have about $700 to spend on a computer and I still need a monitor haha!

Solution
MB + CPU - The AMD AM3+ platform is effectively dead and being replaced by Ryzen. Look toward the new AMD AM4 platform with the newer CPU, or toward an Intel i5 setup.
PSU - XFX, Seasonic or from EVGA the G2 or G3 lineup. That EVGA B1 is pretty weak.

The setup below will run circles around your AM3+ proposed build. If you can't stretch the budget to include the GTX 1060 6GB, then the RX 480 is your next best option.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-7500 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($196.33 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: ASRock B250M Pro4 Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($78.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: G.Skill NT Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2400...
I would rather sell the system you've been handed down, save some mor and then invest in the new AMD Ryzen platform, provided you're looking at a build two months from now. Otherwise I'd say you should go for the Kabylake platform. At this point of time in technology you shouldn't be sticking to the old AM3 platform as we already have the AM4 platform and ofc much more powerful and energy efficient platforms at your disposal.

You may want to go through this thread and parse the necessary information into this thread for us to tailor a suggestion/build.

FX 6350... Immediate red flag. Not only is it out of upgrade paths, it isn't good for games.

$700 including monitor?
