How Is my Computer Build?

here's what u can improve from that build:
wait for 5 oct, Coffelake is coming, the i7 8700k would be better :)
16 GB RAM is better, some games can utilize them which will make your experience smoother
PSU sucks, get the G2 / G3 instead :)

other than that, i think it's awesome and well balanced, i just hope u're not building it for 1080p gaming XD

7700K and GTX1080ti is as good as it gets for a top end gaming build today.
You might wait for Oct 5 to see what the I5-8600K brings.

On your build, buy a 2 stick ram kit.
Do not plan on adding 8gb later, it may be incompatible.
I suggest with your budget, it is better to buy a 2 x 8gb kit up front.

NH-D15 is a very good cooler.
But, the NH-D15s is better on two counts.
It has clearance for tall ram heat spreaders and is offset so that the cooler can better clear a graphics card in the first pcie x16 slot.
It should cost no more.

120gb is too small these days for a windows V drive. Many things default to it.
240gb should be minimum.
If you can manage 500gb, consider deferring on the hard drive until you actually need the room.
Samsung evo would be my choice.

I agree, you should absolutely run 2x8 gb ram. Something else to consider in the near future; a good monitor. You are building a pc than can easily handle 4k and AR. If you are interested in the higher video quality (4k or even 5k) you will need an awesome monitor.

Agree to wait for coffeelake, you will get much more performance for the $$.

Now outside of that I find 2 issues:
8gb of ram is not enough, you need 16gb.
That kingston SSD drive is cheap for a reason, stick with samsung or crucial because there is a very big difference in real world performance.

well that's what it takes if u want the high end rig 😀
u can always step down to something like R5 + 1070 if u want to save up some cash...

all u had to do is lower your expectation XD and u will save up more $ otw XD

I've run into a slight dilemma. I'm looking at the new i7 8700k coffee lake, and will my current motherboard support it? I was reading somewhere that you need a 300 series chipset, or something like that, and that z270 wont cut it? Help please ;-;

yes, since there are some difference on certain feature, only 3XX chipset can support the coffelake

Ok, sorry. Last question. I’ve really been studying this i7 8700k, and is it really an upgrade for me? I’m basically gonna only game on this thing, and some benchmarks have shown that it has an average lower FPS on games? Should I just stick to the i7 7700k?

the lower fps only happens because the bios and such haven't been patched up yet, as time goes, it will be improved which will allow the i7 8700k to come on top, if u only care about gaming, the i5 8600k can be a great deal instead (6 core no hyperthreading) it has been shown to win in almost every game against the i7 7700k 😀 (although as time goes, the hyperthreading would be a good addition)
