Question How is my wifi adaptor still works without proper installation?

In my laptop, I can connect to near by wifi using wifi adaptor but without proper installation.

Is it loophole in wifi adaptor?

Note: Laptop wifi's is not working, so I am using wifi adapter.

You misunderstood. I am not asking to fix the problem. I am asking how its working even without proper set up.
