should i get a x470 board or is b450 good enough ??

Hello,

Your build is very good. B450 motherboards are really good, there isn't an important reason to spend more money on the x470.

Your build is powerful, so it draws much power. I would go for a 600w power supply.

Also, how much money is your graphics card? There are some decent options from AMD, maybe you can find a graphics card for the same price or lower that performs better.

I personally would reccomend getting an X570 motherboard. The B450 will require a BIOS update to run the 3rd gen Ryzen and the X570 will be a better overall platform for any future upgrades.

Other than that the build looks solid to me.

When a B450 Motherboard has the word "MAX" in it's title like the "MSI B450M PRO-M2 MAX" it means that it's a board that will support the 3000 series out of the box.

Wouldn't B550 be somewhat closer to B450 than X570?

Sorry, my bad. I assumed B550 also sported PCIe 4.0, which it didn't.
