Hello, I was wondering what you guys thought of this computer build? What could I do to improve it and how can I save money? Keep in mind that I'm only 14 and have limited money, so suggestions shouldn't raise the price. (For the graphics card I want to get a GTX 1060)
Thanks

Solution

Im guessing you were using teh 970 as a placeholder for the 1060, in which case, good.

Do strive to get an SSD, and also, W10:

CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($199.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B150M-D3H Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($67.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: *Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($30.88 @ OutletPC)
Storage: A-Data Premier SP550 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($36.99 @ NCIX US)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal...
I know it will work, but what I am confused about is if I will get my speeds I want. The ram is 2400MHz, and the processor says something about 2133 Mhz. Will is slow my ram down to that speed or will it stay at the 2400MHz?

Not really. For all intents nad purposes, it doesn't really matter. If there is cheaper 2133 Mhz RAM, ofcourse you should get that instead, just liek i've put in the buidl i linked 😉

Let me get thsi straight, what are you gettign in teh end?

Everything was already excelent, but i have two small changes if you can afford them:

- $19 more to get 16 gigs of ram is really merited
- no pc should be without an ssd these days. definitely worth the $37

Windows + the usual suspects takes about 30GB with pagefile and everything.
120 is a little tight: you will eb able to fit one game max, maybe 2 if you push it.
240 is teh sweetspot.

Its probably best to get a cheap SSD anyways if I'm just using for start up right?

Yes any SSD is tons better than no SSD :)
Try to get the Adata though, as i know those are good.
