How long do we have to wait

Is Samsung ever going to make more green RAM again? I know they stopped producing them in order to supply the ever growing smartphone DRAM production and changed some of their fabs around for SSD production as well.

Also any news on when RAM prices are going to be lowered? I know that the Hynix plant fire last year was what made them rise in the first place, but this past November a new plant opened up. Are the RAM companies still just milking what they can get out of this bloated market? RAM is almost 3X the cost it used to be compared to late 2011/early 2012.

Silicon (RAM, DRAM, NVRAM.. xxRAM) is a highly competitive market with wafer thin (love puns!) margins. One of the few remaining places where suply and demand still defines pricing.

Supply of chips can't meet demand and on PC DRAM the manufacturers are gearing up for DDR4, so don't expect the prices to go down
