I'm about to clean an old PSU and was wondering if a PSU has been unplugged for 6 months will all the cap's have drained power?

I'm making a reasonable guess at saying I'm gonna be safe on opening the PSU as its been standing out of case for so long but I have been ZAPPED before so I just want to be triple safe before opening.

If a component has no power source to gain from for about 10 minutes it will be drained of power. Depending on the capacity this varies, but I'm sure you will be fine.

The ZAPPED query is because of static discharge built up on you and between the component, this is not relating to the power query you first mentioned. Make sure you earth yourself before you touch such components in future by touching something metal connecting to the ground, like a radiator.

For example, removing the power cable from your TV for 10 minutes, it will have NO power still circulating through it.

Thanks
