I dont have a 980 or 980 m but I would imagine those games could run 40-70 Fps on higher settings
ATM they can get 60FPS on High no problem but am asking how long it'll be before that is no longer the case
It depends on the game entirely and how well its optimized. 4 years maybe? I cant imagine turning settings to the very lowest just to get 30 Fps if you have a decent processor.

I am actually doing that now with a few games with a 765M and an i7-4700MQ
The GTX 980M is pretty potent for a laptop GPU, it equals the gtx 970 in performance which is amazing for a mobile device. So it will last a long time.
