Hello, I have an LG monitor that can output 400 nits with the brightness maxed out. I wonder what I should set my brightness to in nits for gaming in SDR. I read that some people suggest using 100 nits, others say between 100-160 nits is what everyone should aim for, and I’ve even seen people say 200 nits is the default for all monitors and what it should be. I am sitting in a normally lit room, and the bulb I use is a Tapo L535E set to maximum brightness with a 2700K color temperature, directly above me while I play my games. I know brightness is a personal preference, but it's hard for me to choose. I have this weird perfection obsession and can't decide, and I just want someone to tell me to use this much nits for gaming in SDR and forget about it.

Whatever looks best for YOUR eyes and YOUR room lighting.

There is no default "best for everyone".

That happens to me all the time when I get a new monitor. Cannot decide what is best. And I generally end up picking something I kind of like (even though I'm not sure) and after a while I get used to it and it becomes "perfection" naturally (and no way I can change it after that).
