Hi
I have some spare parts at home.
CPU: intel J2900 Quadl core 2.44GHz
RAM: 8gb DDR3
64GB ADATA SP900 SSD.
54mbit/s up/download

does anyone know how many people I could host on minecraft with these specs?
Thanks in advance!

wow thanks

The question was, "how many"
Obviously, the more players, the more throughput you need. Are we talking about 5 players, or 150 players?

I don't think 150 players would be an issue for the host. The players would be causing lag between themselves. I think it depends more on what the software can handle at that point.

No, MC servers bog internet down pretty fast. As an ex developer for an MC server, we hada 100 mb line to our server (dedi host in chicago), after 30 players, we had the server crash after a java exception. Result, out connection was not strong enough to hold so many. We had to move to OVH for their gigabit internet, when that happened I left cuz school but don't expect many. Probably 30 MAX
