I plan on overclocking the card to atleast 1400 mhz and I plan on overclocking the CPU to 4.5ghz so keep in mind that the watts will be turned up extremely on the CPU and the GPU. Anyways i would like to pick out a decent power supply for the build. im wondering what the safe amount of wattage would be for this overclocked build

Would all do you fine. That combination won't pull over 400 watts, and these all have plenty of amps on the +12v rail for everything you're looking at.

Keep in mind these are for your current setup, if you're going to be looking to SLI later, get an 850w PSU of any of these brands.

Hello dtaylor. Based on your PC part picker estimate you will need just under 500. However you are correct that overclocking will increase the wattage quite a bit. Since power supplies are not terribly expensive, you should be safe with a 750 watt power supply. I was in a similar situation and it appears the only time Ive had problems is when my overclock wasn't stable. In conclusion, 750 watts would cover your overclocking and even some expansion to your system. You cant go wrong with extra power. Get a nice set from corsair.

As you can see, an overclocked 780 Ti with an overclocked extreme edition CPU don't even touch 400w. You could run a pair of 780 Tis in sli with 750w power supply.

Power supply needs are quality over quantity, which is why I listed quality power supplies. A 750w psu isn't necessary in the slightest for any single card build. 650w is even overkill, as long as you buy a quality unit. More =/= better.

That said, a 750w psu won't hurt you, just wanted to point out that it won't do anything more or better for you.
