How much data does youtube use?

Hi,

I want to know how much data does 1 hour of you tube use for all resolutions. 240p, 360p, 480p, 720p, 1080p.

Assume they are all good quality videos. Not compressed.

I am assuming that you want to watch videos over youtube and while assuming that I am not sure what do you mean by compressed.


In case you are looking to upload files then the data will be equivalent to your file size.
And in case of downloading/watching, the data would range more or less between this for "1 HOUR" of VIDEO -

240p ~ 150 MB
360p ~ 250 MB
480p ~ 400 MB
720p ~ 800-900 MB
1080p ~ 1.2 -1.4 GB

Sorry for posting so late.

I just did some tests a few days ago. One min Youtube video (with all diff Video Quality)

Here's my results:

240p - 1.23 mb
360p - 2.91 mb
480p - 5.50 mb
720p - 8.57 mb
1080p - 15.96 mb

Not sure what you mean by compress or not. The reason being is that Youtube video is played (and downloaded) based on the Video Quality you set in the controller.

To watch a YouTube video, you first have to have rendered the video on your device before watching the video. That means you have to download the video before watching.
