How much does a GPUs brand matter?

I'm gonna buy a GTX 770 but I'm wondering does the brand really matter that much to pay more? Is the MSI GTX 770 Reference (http://eu.msi.com/product/vga/N7702GD5OC.html) good?

Are you gonna overclock? If not, its really a matter of warranty and price. Also, some cards are quieter, but at stock voltages and clocks they all pretty much the same :/ also the companies that boast higher clocks out of the factory really have no impact, its only like a maximum of 7% performance increase. it takes more than a 100Mhz boost to achieve noticeable gains. and in regards to reference cards, they just dont have the better cooling solutions, but they tend to work better in sli and crossfire.

I don't think the brand will matter. Some are more overclockable than others an some come already overclocked. If you are like me and run don't overclock then get your best price.

With reference design cards (like the one in your link) the only difference between brands is the sticker on the plastic housing and the particular warranty/service of the brand.

The card itself is an nVidia reference model.

When it comes to custom coolers and factory overclocked card, its a completely different story.

Gigabyte, MSI and ASUS get a lot of good reviews for their custom cards.
E-VGA get a lot of goodwill in general because their customer service is very good.

If I'm not planning to OC should I pay more for some other card. Plus the MSI Reference looks good 😀. I also think it's factory overclocked.
