How much FPS with the FX-6300? (CSGO)

Currently I have a Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @240GHz paired with a R9 270, I get around 70 fps on average sometimes can stay at a stable 90 and can sometimes drop to about 40 -50.

So I found the cheapest option compared to a I5 series and that is the FX-6300, I'm wondering if that CPU alone with the 270 with raise my frame-rate to around a consistent 130 - 150.

(I do plan on getting a better monitor but right now this is my primary focus gaming wise)

Thanks 😀

I3 6100 will give you better performance in CS:GO and you will have upgrade path if you want to.
Cheap b150 mobo and 8 GB ddr4 at 2133 mhz with i3 6100 is way to go for budget gaming atm. Buying FX 6300 in this time is just not good investment.

You could try overclocking the Q6600 (at your own risk of course), I seem to recall it was a fairly popular target for overclockers back when it was released.
Even a mild overclock should give you some Idea if a faster CPU is going to help.

Otherwise wait for the next wave of AMD CPU's or save up for an i5, going for an i3 or the current crop of AMD CPU's may seem like an improvement to start with but I don't think buying into the bottom end of current gaming hardware is the best option if you don't want to be asking the same questions again next year. Neither is likely to be gaming as long as your Q6600 has been.

Second hand is always an option, some people upgrade regularly and sell off some pretty decent hardware at good prices to fund their habit.

I have an AMD Fx4100 and I run it at it's stock speed. With my GTX 660 I get 200-250+ FPS. This is why I have V-sync enabled all the time while playing CSGO. Since the processor in question is Fx6300 I would say you'll get more frames with it's raw power.
