How much is my desktop worth? Is it worth selling to invest in a good laptop if I'm traveling more?

Soon, I won't be a home anymore and I was curious if it was worth it to keep lugging around this monstrous desktop. I am willing to spend about $1500 on a laptop.

Intel Core i7-3770k 3.5Ghz (Stock Cooler)
Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H LGA 1155
16GB (2x8GB) G.Skill Trident X 2400Mhz
Geforce GTX 780 Classified w/ACX cooler
256GB OCZ Agility 3 SSD
1TB Samsung M8 5400rpm
DVD Reader
1000w VisionTek 80+ gold (please don't ask)

That pretty much covers the system, to build it now costs somewhere around $1500 and I want to know how much I could sell it after about a year or so of use.

900-1000 give or take. if you find the rite buyer. on something like craiglist your looking at 700-800. pc hardware ages fast and your parts have been out over a year for the cpu and 6 months for the gpu so by the time you come to sell they will be 18months+ old which will pretty much halve there value. you cant transfer warranties which also brings the price down beyond 70% of what you payed.
if i were in your position i would sell the motherboard and case and buy a new micro atx motherboard and mini lan case.

To answer this properly depends in large part upon knowledge of where you live. I for one could be haggled up to something like 1100 or so depending on how clean it is etc. and so might a lot of enthusiasts. The question is how many such people are nearby. Do you live in an urban or rural area? is their a place where u might advertise to an appropriate group (live near a college?) etc....
