I am trying to sell my computer, I know retail I paid about $600 brand new, on its own. I then put in a GeForce GTX 750ti OC edition video card that cost $150, and have a 22" LED Samsung monitor retailing at about $100. I am trying to sell the PC (video card included) + monitor on craigslist or a PC shop. I know when I bought it there is a ridiculous markup, but its only about five months old so I should be able to get a decent amount for this right? I was thinking about $700 for it all together, but that seems high and I'm sure no one will pay that much, but whats the lowest you think I should settle for selling this at craigslist, OR a PC shop?

Rule of Thumb - Take your build cost and then subtract 10% .... then 5% for each month of age for 6 months (60% value at this point) ... then 10% for every 6 months thereafter.

0.5 year old - 60% of build cost
1.0 - 50%
1.5 - 40%
2.0 - 30%
2.5 - 20%
3.0 - 10%

If $850 new, it should be worth a bit less than what would normally be as a custom build as it's a "off the shelf" big box store branded PC.....

1 day old - $765
3 months old - $635
6 months old - $510
1 year old - $425
2 years old - $255
No matter how new it is, it is still used.

Would need an actual parts list to get a more exact figure. But this is something that can be built right now for about $600 using cheaper components, so anywhere near that is pretty good.

Here's a PCPartsPicker equivalent I put together: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6cD9pg

Total for parts, OS, and monitor: $770 ($710 after rebates)

Yes, those aren't the -exact- parts, but they are likely equal to or better at least (except possibly the motherboard)

Based on that, I would venture to say that $600 is a good starting point. Because it's based off a prebuilt system some of the value is lost (less expandability, lower reliability, etc)

You likely won't get over $600, and I would guess that closer to $500 is more realistic.
