How much of a size difference is there between a 16:9 21.5 inch monitor and a 16:9 19 inch monitor?

Just wanted to know the size difference between the two. The 21.5 inch one has 1920x1080 resolution and the 19" one has 1360x768 resolution. It will be nice if you guys post images of a 21.5" monitor next to 19" monitor. And please don't suggest display wars' comparision as I think that it doesn't give the proper idea of size.

Solution
Why not go into a store that sells them and look for yourself. For a desktop I prefer a 21.5", but my laptop has a 15" screen that I'm OK with. As for resolution, for me personally 1360 x 768 is just fine. Everybody's eyes are a little different, so I really suggest that you go to a store and see what pleases YOUR eyes.
I guess you know that those 19" and 21.5" measurements are of the display area along the diagonal, so the literal answer is 2.5" on the diagonal, if that's what you're asking.

Good luck.

Solution
21.5 inch is better with 1920*1080 resolution.
19 inch with 1366*768 is just awful.
Text will be larger and there will be no room left for multitasking on the desktop.
Everything is just cramped with 1366*768.
Where 1920*1080 will have a lot of space and image and video will look sharper on 1080P screen.

I think everyone know this 😛 but that is not what I was asking for.Earlier I wanted a 24" monitor and I used display wars + measuring tape to compare between the two. That additional 5 inch seemed okay ish. But when I used my cousin's Dell S2440L...It seemed huge ! (Hope you are getting what I am saying, cause few people understand me.)

Try to stay as close to the horizontal resolution as you can. As in 1920x = 19", 2560x = 25", 3840x = 38". That's a very good rule to follow that I sort of made up, as it's just basically the average as far as all the science behind retina and visual acuity to distance ratio.

If you used displaywars, you already know the difference. If it seems huge, that's because you're not used to it. 24" is very small. I use a 77" projector screen from a distance of around 2.5m, it started to look too small after approx. 2 days, now I want 100".

Oops! Forgot to tell that primary purpose would be gaming. And every thing looks tiny and blurry on my 19" 768p monitor. Is 21.5" 1080p fine or should I go for 24" 1080p?

Resolution isn't the primary reason for "blur" on displays. The bit depth, contrast, resolution combined are the three key specs that really stand out when combined. Bigger is always better, and by always I mean always. Distance and visual acuity is always a factor, but it's really non existent as far as the charts are concerned which you usually see if you look this up online. With that said, fantastic price on this monitor:

The 21.5" both black & white are sold at $99.99. You can't beat that price to performance right now.

If you want a higher contrast, sacrificing a few degrees of the viewing angles, I recommend this:

$129.00

In the end, contrast is ultimately the deciding factor as far as perceived "sharpness" is concerned on a display. This is the primary spec which is responsible behind people craving for OLED, which is entirely different technology than LCD, but still a known fact.

All the best!
