So I am building a PC first time, I am wondering how do I know which PSU to pick? Currently I have a

Intel core i-5-4440 3.1 Ghz
Asus B85 Pro Gamer Motherboard
Kingstone Hyper -X 4gb DDR3 RAM (x2)
Asus 760gtx DC2OC

Should I get a 500W or a 600W?

That's why I suggested on taking a 600W one, it might be a bit more expensive, but you're not going to have any problems with the power using a 600W PSU.

For such cars (GTX 750) for example, manufacturers tend to put 500W as minimum reccommended PSU. I'm certain that it would run on 500W. Why is it said minimum? Because people tend to buy more powerful CPU's, HDD's and RAM's alltogether with such a card and they require more power. If they'd put 400W as a minimum reccommended, then it wouldn't be enough.

I am just wondering, since this is my first time building a pc, how do I exactly know how much power I need? Most people say 500W some say 600W

Take the parts you bought and look for the power consumption in watts (W). Usually it's the max power consumption listed in the specifications so just add those numbers together and you'll get the max power consumption your rig will get. This is the easiest way.

Well for my graphic card it says minimum 500W, I doubt that a PSU with 500W is enough?
