Question How much power is my GPU actually using?

GPU: AMD 7900 XT

So i've recently been looking at my GPU's power consumption and i'm a bit baffled..

I used 3 programs to monitor it, MSI Afterburner, HW INFO and of course the AMD adrenaline.
The problem is that although MSI and Adrenaline give numbers that are close enough together the MW info shows the GPU Power maximum much much higher.
By example if in MSI and Adrenaline i see 150 - 160 Watts , HW info shows it at a steady 300+!

So .. how much power does my GPU consume?

Note that at idle all three programs show very close numbers .. the problem is when under load. (full load or not)

Hey there,

Your GPU will draw up to 300w at full load.

What are the rest of your specs? Are MSI and Adrenalin up to date? Are all your system drivers and bios up to date?
All my drivers and programs except bios are up to date.
Also, i know that under full load the GPU draws 320 and even 330w (and the msi and adrenalin show that correctly when i stress test the GPU) but this is nowhere near full load.
As you can see from the screenshots the load was at 69%, msi and adrenaline show it at 135 -160w .. hw info 300+ and steady number not just spiking.
Who do i trust?

System Specs:
CPU: AMD Rysen 7 7800 X3D
Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 gaming xax v2
RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance ddr5 6000 mhz
PSU: Be Quitet pure power 12M 850W
Cooler: Corsair icue h115i elite capellix

GPU Power Maximum - seems to be historic maximum.
Look at Total Board Power and Total Graphics Power values instead.

BTW - you have integrated graphics enabled with discrete RX 7900XT installed.
I'd suggest you disable integrated graphics in BIOS (unless you're using it to connect additional monitors).
That will free up ram reserved for integrated graphics and also lower power consumption.

Damn i forgot to disable it lol
I disabled it from Windows 11 - device manager - display adapters section.
Do i need to do it from BIOS too ?

Adrenaline clearly says that it shows the total board power. The total board power in HWiNFO corresponds exactly to the value displayed in Afterburner. So, you are looking at the wrong value in HWiNFO. Look at the total board power and the numbers will match perfectly.

It has to be disabled in BIOS.
If you don't do that, reserved ram doesn't get released.
Quick question: What if my main GPU dies, will i be able to re-enable the integrated graphics ? I read you need a BIOS reset and if you only do it from windows like i did you won't be able to turn it back on. How true is it?

Yes.
BIOS setting only changes integrated graphics availability, if a discrete graphics card is installed.
If there is no discrete graphics card, then integrated gpu gets enabled automatically (and you can't disable it).

You can't normally reset BIOS from windows.
You either do it with CLEAR_CMOS juper on motherboard or from within BIOS.
BIOS update will also reset BIOS settings to default.
