How much should I expect to pay for a PC?

Hi all,

I'm planning on building a new gaming rig in about 3 weeks. I'm trying to put together a plan/budget, but I could use some advice regarding 1080p and 1440p.

My requirements are: running all games on max settings, and having dual monitors (the monitors must be identical) at least 23". One monitor will have a game on it while the other will have youtube/netflix/facebook. I'll be buying everything except a mouse and keyboard.

I figure the main cost difference between 1080p and 1440p will be in the GPU and two monitors. What could I expect to pay for a build that fulfills my requirements in 1080p? Also, what could I expect to pay for if it was 1440p?

Just an estimate will be helpful! Id like to decide on the resolution I plan on running before I pester yall for exact build advice. Even a guestimate that is give or take $200 would be helpful!

I could help do that but would you be willing to buy used parts? the cost of gaming pc goes down significantly for that, cost of parts and monitors would probably come to about £900 new but used you could probably get away with £700 or less

Much depends on whether you want to overclock. Due to the multitasking nature of your build, I wold recommend an i7.

A good 1080p start, with multitask ability. This is assuming you want to overclock. You could go with a GTX 1070, for some longevity.
