youll have to spin that cable round, its the wrong angle to tell.
irregardless with both a 380 & the 970 (power requirements are pretty much identical on both) you 100% need the cable configuration I put in the picture above as a minimum - meaning 1x 6 pin & 1 x 6+2 pin powr connectors.

None of us have any idea whatsoever what kind of quality that unit is - the 12v rail specs on the label make it seem as if it would power just about any setup but in all honesty ( not meaning to sound at all rascist) when I see a made in china badge & no real sign of actual manufacturer branding it really does not fill me with confidence

You are right. It's not so much about where they are made, but the components selected. Since we can't find out anything about the Branding Company, who knows what is inside it?

You guys are amazing I can tell, thanks for the fast response and everything! - should I risk this one though? if I am going to risk what GPU I should pick? GTX 970 or R9 380x at our case? I think it would be GTX 970 since it uses less power and I think (not sure) better performance as I didn't try it / play with it installed anywhere.
Other than that, I told you my build in the previous comment, can you tell me what I can improve in it assuming I don't want to change the motherboard or the CPU, consider that I might use this for gaming, coding & maybe rendering (I think I should upgrade RAM to 16 and buy a SSD for the operating system and a better GPU and maybe another power supply?) can any of you direct me to what I really need to buy? if you know a good PSU tell me!

Again I appreciate it guys you are great!

Here is a link to the Tom's PSU tier list. Most people here will recommend a Tier 1 or 2. Go no lower than Tier 3 if that's all your budget allows.

I haven't used either one of those GPUs so I will leave that for others to answer.

Samsung Evo or Pro SSDs are generally highly recommended. If you are going to up the ram to 16GB, it is best to buy a 16GB kit that has been tested together. If you are just adding ram, get the exact same manufacturer, model #. Even then, it may not work well together as they may have changed something in the manufacturing process over time.

with that statement right there tells me time to get something that known solid and trustworthy

for me when I see that P4 makes me think way back to Pentium days [lol] then how generic china is it that you google it around and find nothing ??

as I like to say is your PSU is the hart and life blood of your build so I try to keep that part the best I can ..
