How much will my CPU Bottleneck my GPU if I upgrade?

I am thinking about upgrading to a Radeon R9 290 from my current HD6870. I know this is a significant upgrade, but my CPU is a I5 2500K. How much will the CPU Bottleneck the new GPU for gaming? I have a 750 Watt PSU with 8 Gigs ram so this is my only real concern.

It won't. That is a fine pairing. The 2500k is still very relevant and a good performer.
