im planning on selling my system to make another one but i would like to know how much it would be worth (AU dollar)

main specs:
4690K (currently overclocked to 4.4Ghz)noctua NH-D14 (with aftermarket fans), MSI Z87M GAMING (one set of rear USB 2 ports are stuffed, came broken, and a fan header, just stopped)
16GB DDR3 kingston hyperx fury (currently overclocked to 2400Mhz)
gigabyte 970 (non G1 edition, had for 1 week strait from RMA)
antec VP650P
coolermaster DC cube black window
a 300MBPS wifi adapter and a green L.E.D strip, all green L.E.D fans
a cheap 250GB HDD (because a clip snapped off the tooless bay, is removable but not worth it for the drive)

im thinking about $1400 for the lot without a main storage drive and SSD, if i where to include my 2 drives could i increase the price, i have a windows 8.1 key laying around i could throw in for an operating system (windows 10 upgrade available)

thanks

P.S if you would like pictures please ask

how much did u pay for it? 30-40% average of total cost but depends on condition and dated

about $1800 ($1930 if operating system is included), the motherboard and the case are the oldest components i have (bought june 2014) everything else was bought last year and under 1 year old. i dont think my pc is worth $750 (going off 40%)

it really just depends on how much someone is willing to pay vs how much knowledge they have of the real worth of your parts vs what else is out there to compare it to.

Well say you where to see it and buy it how mich would you pay?

Hi, easiest way to find what your system will sell for (not what it's worth) is to look on EBAY for similar systems.

Sadly, there is no market for used custom PCs, so you can often make more money selling as used parts for 50% of original cost.

Unlike cars that depreciate 10-20% in the first year, custom PCs drop 50% or more.

The exception to this rule is if you find someone who knows you who needs a PC then you can often recover close to the cost to build an equivalent PC.

Aside: you are thinking of building a new PC once you sell this one. Find on EBAY a PC with the CPU and Graphics you plan to use.... how much would YOU pay for it? Wouldn't you be concerned that someone smoked up the voltage on the CPU or GPU during their OC'ing? (And you know both a 970 and an i5-4690K got OC'ed.)

i have been looking around for second hand parts but my issue is a 290X/390X goes for over $800 AUD on ebay (crazy people) or they are all located over seas, ive got about a $1500 budget and trying to get as much out of my pc as i can so i have money left over towards a car and other items i need for school

I probably said it wrong, or I didn't understand your answer. I am not suggesting that you build your new system with used parts. Instead suggesting you use selling prices on EBAY to figure out how much your current PC is worth.

Selling your PC you are competing with people on EBAY who are selling similar systems. Look for i5-4690K based used systems with gtx 970 or similar video. See what their asking price is in AU dollars, and how long the item has been sitting. Then assume you have to ask for less to sell. This is the best way to find the market price for your system.

Aside: given your goal in your first post "i'm planning on selling my system to make another one" it makes no sense to sell the old one given how little technology has evolved in CPUs and MBs. If your goal is to take the money out and not have a gaming PC like the more recent post " trying to get as much out of my pc as i can so i have money left over towards a car and other items i need for school" then all you can do is post for sale at a reasonable price relative to other PCs then keep lowering your price. The person who buys you system is likely getting a steal, because people just don't drop $1000+ for a used PC from a private person they don't know. You are unlikely to get enough money out that it makes sense to sell this system and buy a cheaper one.
