How quiet is Hyper 212 Evo CPU cooler supposed to be?

Hello,

I recently got a new CPU cooler( Hyper 212 EVO) to get my PC to be quieter.
I notice it when i am wearing my headphones. Anyone has experience with this CPU fan.
The tempretures are 35 C when being on internet and 50 C if playing games.
Is it supposed to be like that. Or how quiet is your CPU fan.
There is no way to change the speed also, i think. Not atleast with Fanspeed.

Your temperatures seem nominal.
The hyper212 is not one of the best 120mm coolers out there.
Here is a review of the $35 scythe kotetsu. At the end, there is a table of noise vs. cooling which includes the hyper212.

If you are inclined to change out the cooler, I can recommend the kotetsu from personal use.

Your motherboard should have some sort of fan control mechanism in the bios. Look for that.

I owned the 212 when I had my X4 965, while it's not the quietest cooler out there compared to the stock cooler running at 100% the difference in noise and temps was quite drastic.

Check the bracket/clips that holds the fan onto the heatsink, you may be able to replace it with a quieter fan. I would give you more details but it's been a few years since I've had it. If it can be replaced I'd look at Cougar Vortex PWM fans as there really quiet, I replaced my Corsair H100i fans with them.

Yes, you can.
Noise comes primarily from the rpm that the fan is running at.
Noctua makes very nice fans.
They also come with some low noise adapters. Check that you need a 4 pin fan, usual for a cpu cooler.
